About Grand Rapids/West Michigan

Grand Valley is located in Michigan's West Coast, close to the sandy beaches of Lake Michigan and the cultural opportunities of Michigan's second largest city, Grand Rapids. Both the residential main campus in Allendale and the urban campus in Grand Rapids are located just a few hours from Chicago and Detroit.

Grand Rapids

With Grand Valley's main campus located just 20 minutes from Michigan's second largest city, students can enjoy professional sports events, shopping, movie theaters, restaurants, and museums. Plus, Grand Rapids' outstanding entertainment facilities attract national musical and stage performances year-round. West Michigan Area

Lake Michigan is just 25 minutes west of the main campus. With its exquisite beaches, incredible sunsets, and quaint resort towns, there's something for everyone whether you enjoy the beach, shopping, or just people watching.  During the winter months, go snowboarding, downhill skiing, or sledding with friends. Or, take advantage of the extensive snowmobile and cross-country ski trails available in West Michigan. Click on the Michigan's West Coast link on the right for more information on West Michigan.
