  • One page personal statement indicating your academic goals and reasons for wanting to attend GVSU. It is preferred that this statement is typed and signed.
  • Verification of Financial Support - U.S. Immigration law requires that all international students verify that they have support for at least one year's costs and that there is reasonable assurance that the financial support will continue for the remaining years needed to complete the degree

The estimated educational and living expenses for the 2007-2008 school year is $24,000.

Your sponsor must complete and sign the Financial Support Form that is included with our application and it must be submitted with an original bank statement verifying that the necessary amount of support is available.

International Transfer Students

If you are currently enrolled in bachelor's degree program (or the equivalent first university degree in your country) in a college or university in your country, and you are hoping to come to the U.S. to finish your bachelor's degree, you will probably be considered a "transfer" student.

As part of the application, we will ask you to provide an original, official transcript / marks sheet from your current college or university, showing the classes your have taken, the number of credits or hours that are assigned to the classes, and the grade or mark that you received. You MUST have the equivalent of a B/C average (2.5 out of 4.0) to be considered for admission as a transfer student. If you have at least one year of full-time university classes completed, we will make our admissions decision on your college / university marks. If you have less than one year of full-time classes completed, then we will also need to see your secondary school transcript / marks sheet.  The average of your secondary school marks must be equivalent to a "B" (3.0 out of 4.0) for you to be considered for admission.

The Next Step!

If you understand all of the requirements and you feel you can meet the above-mentioned requirements, we encourage you to continue on to the on-line application or send an email to global@gvsu.edu to have a paper copy of the application mailed to you.
