Transportation

We ask you to arrive on campus no more than three days prior to the start of orientation, unless you have made your own arrangements for housing and airport pickup. You will receive a mailing from the director of international student services shortly after you are admitted. This mailing will explain everything you need to know about arrival, orientation, and housing.

What airport do I fly into?

You will need to fly into the Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The airport's code is GRR.

How will I get to campus from the airport?

On your first arrival to Grand Rapids to begin classes at Grand Valley State University, you can arrange to be picked up at the airport through the director of international student services. After you are admitted, you will receive instructions on whom to notify about your arrival. If you choose to arrive on your own, there are taxis available from the airport. Please note that this taxi ride will cost approximately $50.
